The Two Day Brewer Bullpen Blow Up

'Just hit it over the f-----' wall'

I muttered this to myself at Miller Park on Tuesday evening, as an afternoon game became an early evening affair as the game went over four hours.  Aramis Ramirez answered my plea, and the Brewers walk-off for the second time in  four games, avoiding the most embarrassing loss of the year.  All of the sweat I lost on Tuesday did not go for naught, and the Brewers kept their winning streak alive.  While the Brewers won four straight, it did not feel that way at all after watching the Brewers' bullpen give up 10 runs.

Yesterday, another scorcher making people feel like the Brewers were playing the series at Sun Life Stadium, not Miller Park, the Brewers were in command leading 5-1 with Randy Wolf fooling the Marlins.  Justin Ruggiano who is making a run at Washington Nationals' Michael Morse's title of 'The Babe Ruth of Miller Park', hit another home run tightening the game at 5-2. Wolf continued to labor through the seventh, putting two on, and faced Logan Morrison to get the final out on the inning.  LoMo as his Twitter friends call him, drilled it to centerfield tying up the ball the game. Relying on Wolf in a late-game scenario is about as trustworthy as a stripper.

Manager Ron Roenicke obviously wanted Wolf to get the W, because he hasn't had one since April 30th becoming the new Cliff Life, and he did not trust Manny Parra who was ready in their bullpen.  Wolf could not finish the deal, and that appears to be the theme with thirty percent of the Brewers right now....

They cannot finish.

Closer John Axford seemed to be in complete control shutting down the first two batters with ease, and then faced Gaby Sanchez, someone whose slump is compared to mine with women.  Axford blows by Sanchez with two vintage AxMan fastballs then Sanchez takes him deep to tie the game up.  Sanchez got demoted to Triple A after the game. That's the guy who contributed in beating the Brewers.  It always seems to be those players who are not having the best years, or struggled in the past, never the superstars.  The reason?

Everyone's mental capacity is the size of a baby's hand.

Last year, the Brewers had guys like LaTroy Hawkins and Takashi Saito who had their shit together, and now they have the bullpen of weak mental midgets.  There is a part of me that's happy this team will not be in a playoff race because I couldn't fathom these guys during the months of August and September trying to deal with that pressure.  They all need a 15 day Jeff Suppan DL stint with a supposed 'bad elbow.'  The unfortunate thing for all of us including them; they are here no matter what even if every Brewer fan hates it.

We can continue to pound the narrative that 'no one feels worst than the bullpen does', but f--- that.  How about one of the players call out the pen for how their performance is on par with taking a shit right on the pitcher's mound?  Or having Wolf just punch out one of the players who cost him a meaningless win?   The era of good feelings is over fellas, and something needs to change.

The rock bottom for this team is never-ending.  I almost wish the Brewers would have lost on Tuesday because that would have kept me away from Miller Park for the rest of the year.  Instead, I will still chase a pointless dream.

Charlie.
