The BrewCap Vol. 100: Kyle Lohse's Swan Song

The BrewCap will recap the Brewers game on the day of the game replacing Highlights-Lowlights. I felt like those got too repetitive and people missed out on what actually happened. The schedule is varied on these unfortunately due to me having a life. Best hope is they are up the day of the game, but sometimes, it bleeds to the next day. Deal with it.

We have hit the 100 game mark, folks, and it isn't fitting Milwaukee finds themselves on yet another losing streak. Milwaukee has a way of doing this each month. If you look back, I believe the Brewers have a losing streak of five or more games each month. If they lose again tomorrow night, it will be their fourth. This is becoming one of those terrible west coast swings for the team.

Player of the Day (Giants) - Brandon Crawford (SS): Before he became a solid offensive hitter, Brandon Crawford always seemed to torment Brewers pitching. Well he continued on Monday night with a two-run homer, and he had a single that he scored on thanks to a Gregor Blanco double. Crawford had his hand in three of the four scoring runs for San Francisco. Not bad

Not Player of the Day (Giants) -
Buster Posey (C): I'm not going to speak very ill of him, but Posey did not have a good Monday night at the ballpark. He went  0-for-4 against Brewers pitching leaving two in scoring position. He also took only 13 pitches showing more of an aggressive style at the plate which didn't pay off for him. Posey hasn't been great against the Brewers this year.

Player of the Day (Brewers) - Jonathan Lucroy (C): While I wanted to give it to Kyle Lohse, a three-run inning is tough to look past. Lucroy delivered Milwaukee's first extra-base hit in 108 at-bats. Lucroy had a run scoring double driving in Gerardo Parra. Khris Davis would pick up Lucroy as well. I know Luc only had one hit, but it's nice to see him come up with a clutch hit. That's been missing all year from him.

Not Manager of the Day (Brewers) - Craig Counsell - Anyone want to talk about how Counsell managed himself out of a couple baseball games in the last two games. Both times around, he left Matt Garza and Kyle Lohse for a batter too long. I know he's a young coach, but it's finally showing up in the minute details of the game.  It's too bad, and I think if Milwaukee went to the bullpen a batter earlier, the fates of the game might be different.

When The Game Turned -  Just the fact Milwaukee had three opportunties to start something, but Jean Segura, Jonathan Lucroy and Carlos Gomez all bounced into double plays. All of the sudden, Milwaukee has become known for the double play.

What to Watch - Giants are red hot winning 12 of their last 13, but unfortunately for them, Matt Cain takes the hill who isn't great against Milwaukee bats for his career.
