Want to depress yourself... If Milwaukee Brewers played .500 baseball in the month of April, they would be a game above .500 in striking distance of the second Wild Card. This would also mean Ron Roenicke is still managing the team, and we could have a debate all night long on whether the month of April was a good thing for Milwaukee moving forward. Anyways, a sweep is always good. A sweep is better when it's against a NL Central division rival.

Player of the Day (Brewers) - Taylor Jungmann (P): We go for a two POD's
today with Jungmann once again dazzling the Pittsburgh Pirates. He gives up one run on five hits through seven innings of work. Jungmann battled a little bit more than usual today having three walks, but he found a way to work around them. While it's a really tough year for rookies with Kris Bryant and Joc Pederson in the National League, Jungmann deserves a mention.
Player of the Day (Pirates) - Jeff Locke (P): He pitched great for the most part until the final two innings of the game. Not sure why Clint Hurdle trotted him out in the eighth. Locke shut down Milwaukee for the first six innings and still pitched well in a losing effort. He only allowed five hits until the final two innings.
Not Player of the Day (Pirates) - Jared Hughes (P): Pittsburgh did not help themselves late in the game with Hughes. He only recorded one out, and that out led to an RBI as Aramis Ramirez sac flied home a run. Hughes allowed three runs on three hits in a woeful performance. This is the first time Hughes allowed a run since June 8th against Milwaukee as well. And this is the first time he allowed multiple runs since May 29th against San Diego.
When The Game Turned - Eighth inning. In both halves of the inning, it was huge. Will Smith gave up a one-out double to Neil Walker leaving the tying runner in scoring position. Jeremy Jeffress came in and shut the down with strike outs from Sterling Marte and Jung Ho Kang.
What to Watch - Glad I was wrong about Jungmann. Milwaukee gets a day off before two games with Cleveland wraps up a homestand. Brewers have a seven-game winning streak against Cleveland dating back to 2001. Kinda crazy.
Charlie.
