The BrewCap Vol. 94: Seggy's Super Night

The BrewCap will recap the Brewers game on the day of the game replacing Highlights-Lowlights. I felt like those got too repetitive and people missed out on what actually happened. We try to get these up on the night of the game, but sometimes, it bleeds over into the next day. Brewcapping sometimes covers your weekend games if need be. I know this version is extra late, and I apologize for that one.

I feel like we need to end talking about what the Milwaukee could have been this year. Let's enjoy baseball day by day and see what happens with this team. I don't know if anyone can see the future with this ball club. I do know they keep on winning baseball as this will be their 17th win in 23 games. They are nine back of the Wild Card, and if they win tomorrow, they will be at 43 wins which is two better than Cincinnati and tie Arizona.

Player of the Day (Brewers) -  Jean Segura (SS): This was much needed from Jean Segura. A man who had 38 straight singles found his home run swing. Segura seems comfortable again, and I think it has to do with primarily being the sixth hitter versus being moved around all the time. Segura is hitting .404 for the month of July with a seven-game hitting streak in tact.

Player of the Day (Brewers) -
Gerardo Parra (OF): We are running it back with
two POD's for the second straight game. Parra played another great game from the leadoff spot. Currently hitting .500 on first pitches put in contact plus many other eye-popping stats. Parra will not be with the team much longer, but it's incredible to see how far he came in such a short time with the team. He had two triples tonight by stinging the ball all over the field.

Player of the Day (Indians) - Danny Salazar (P); What's weird about this game is Salazar pitched really great except for two pitches - the first one of the game to Parra and the gopher ball to Segura. Other than that, Salazar didn't allow a hit and struck out eight batters. Tough luck giving up three runs on only two hits.

Not Player of the Day (Indians) - Zach McAllister (P): Not a good outing for Zach coming out of the bullpen. He did not record an out in the seventh inning. McAllister gave up three hits and only charged one run for the damage due to a Francisco Lindor error. He also added a walk. McAllister pitched well all weekend, but he didn't have his stuff tonight.

When The Game Turned -  Seventh inning. Much like Sunday's game, Milwaukee was a little bit on the ropes in the top of the seventh before Will Smith struck out two straight batters. And then in the bottom half, Milwaukee busted the game wide open with a five-run seventh inning.

What to Watch - Milwaukee will try for their ninth consecutive win against Cleveland going up against Cody Anderson in a day game. Brewers haven't done well in mid-week day games this season. Big start for Kyle Lohse's career honestly.

Charlie.
