Terrifying Surfer Near Shark Attack Caught on TV
A surfing competition in South Africa was canceled Sunday after championship surfer Mick Fanning escaped a shark attack in the opening minutes of the final heat. There have been a great number of stories this summer about shark attacks being at an all-time high. Apparently, sharks feel more comfortable than ever around humans. This near-attack happened in South Africa at a surfing competition. The shark took out Mick Fanning's leash on his surfboard, but no harm was actually done to Fanning. Like most things, you try to put yourself in this situation, but this one, I couldn't imagine what I would have done. Good for Fanning to break for it after the attack happened.
