Milwaukee got back on the winning track Friday night with a 2-1 victory over Arizona. Brewers had some trouble this season shutting Arizona's offense down as the Diamondbacks scored 28 runs over four games with the Brewers this season. Milwaukee finds themselves nine back of the Wild Card and eleven games under .500. At this time last year, Milwaukee was eleven games over .500. My, how the times have changed.

Not Player of the Day (Brewers) - Hector Gomez (2B): In case, you like my dad, forgot Hector Gomez still owned a roster spot, here's the reminder. Gomez had two strikeouts in three at-bats being the right-handed replacement for Scooter Gennett. My guess is Jason Rogers will be up sooner rather than later as he's currently getting reps at third base again for Colorado Springs. When that happens, Rogers will be the third baseman with a left-handed starter, and they will shift Hernan Perez to the second base position.
Player of the Day (Diamondbacks) Patrick Corbin (P): What a start by the former All-Star. He hasn't been great since coming back from Tommy John surgery, but Corbin looked like he returned to form last night. Corbin struck out 10 batters, walking only one and giving up four hits. He made one mistake to Ryan Braun, but other than that, he was stellar all night long for Arizona. This is an encouraging step for Arizona moving forward.
Not Player of the Day (Diamondback) - David Peralta (OF): Arizona's best chance to score a run with Nelson on the mound was the third when Peralta stepped to the plate with the bases loaded. He hit a meek ground ball to Nelson leading for an easy 1-2-3 double play to end the inning. Peralta also added a strikeout to his night. He had a great series against Brewers pitching in Milwaukee, but last night, he did not deliver for the D'Backs.
When The Game Turned - Ninth inning. I mentioned the third a great deal in this already so why not the final inning of the game? Milwaukee gets an insurance run off typically hard pitcher Brad Ziegler as Gerardo Parra scored on a wild pitch. Brewers would need it as Francisco Rodriguez gave up his first run of the season in a save situation. Insurance runs matter folks.
What To Watch - Taylor Jungmann tries to continue his amazing summer tonight against the tough Arizona bats. Rubby De La Rosa heads to hill for Arizona. Milwaukee hit De La Rosa pretty hard when he pitched at Miller Park earlier this season.
Charlie.
