The BrewCap Vol. 105: Brewers Get Rizzo'd Again

The BrewCap will recap the Brewers game on the day of the game replacing Highlights-Lowlights. I felt like those got too repetitive and people missed out on what actually happened. The schedule is varied on these unfortunately due to me having a life. Best hope is they are up the day of the game, but sometimes, it bleeds to the next day. Deal with it.

Originally when I was drunk last night, I thought the title should be the "Brewers get Rizzed On Again" but to be honest, I grossed myself out with the title. And honestly, it's a little too Rated R for SnoTap. Call me a wuss if you'd like, but I thought we will stick to doing our usual thing.

Player of the Day (Cubs) - Anthony Rizzo (1B): I am making a declaration that Anthony Rizzo is the new president and CEO for the Brewers Killer Club. Jay Bruce's time as president is over, and now the new overlord Rizzo will be taking his place. Rizzo had a home run in all three games at Miller Park, and they have all made a difference pushing the Cubs ahead. Chicago's only offense this weekend has been from Rizzo.

Not Player of the Day (Cubs) - Starlin Castro (SS): Rough day at the yard for Starlin whose July was an unmitigated nightmare. Castro went 0-for-4 leaving one runner in scoring position and striking out once as well. The slumping Castro needs to figure it out in the final two months of the season. Castro went from hitting above .300 to end April and now it's down to .235 with him having an abysmal July only hitting .170 with no home runs and a total of 16 hits.

Player of the Day (Brewers) - Adam Lind (1B): Good to see Adam Lind having a good game after a 0-for-9 streak for the first two games of this series. Lind had two hits, a run scored and an extra-base hit to lead off the ninth as Milwaukee trailed by three. Unfortunately for Milwaukee, they couldn't turn it into more than one run as Jorge Soler robbed Khris Davis of a two-run homer.

Not Player of the Day (Brewers) - Michael Blazek (P): Regression is always a bitch, and it's hitting Blazek a bit in the second half. It also could be Blazek is a little worn down for pitching 52 innings already and his career innings pitched in the big leagues is 69. Blazek gave up another run with a home run surrendered to Kyle Schwarber. Since the All-Star Break, Blazek's ERA is 7.11 with five runs allowed in six innings.

When The Game Turned -  Third inning. There were no real opportunities for the Brewers in this game. They scored twice, but really there wasn't an opportunity for them to make it into a big inning. Third is when Rizzo inflicted pain for the third straight game at Miller Park.

What to Watch - Game is about to get underway at Miller Park. Somehow Kyle Lohse is still pitching for the Milwaukee Brewers. I don't know what Craig Counsell is proving with Lohse starting out there.

Charlie.
