I don't know how Jonathan Broxton got traded today, but he did, to St. Louis Cardinals for Mallik Collymore, an outfielder. Broxton's numbers are decent for the month of July, but where the problems exist for Brox this year is when runners are on-base. Hitters are .354 with runners on and .397 when the runners are in scoring position. The other thing with Broxton is he struggles mightily at PNC Park. The ERA there is 13.50 in 19 games pitched which is not good. Collymore is a 20 year old outfielder who looks more like a football player than a baseball player.
Cardinals fans seemed to be pretty high on him so it's surprising to see him getting traded to Milwaukee. It will be awhile before he gets to the big leagues.
Charlie.
